Mini Clubman

The Clubman is currently the highest profile of the BRR cars with several recent championship titles to its name and regular appearances in the motorsport press. Viewed by many as the ultimate steel shelled Mini the Clubman is currently configured to run with one of two powerplants:

  • A BRR engine fitted with an eight port Arden head and unique BRR specification camshaft developed in conjunction with Piper Cams. In its current configuration the engine develops approximately 172bhp.
  • A KAD 16 valve unit again using bespoke BRR camshafts developed by Piper Cams, this engine is undergoing a series of development cycles as feedback is provided after every race meeting where the engine is used.

In addition to the development work undertaken with Piper Cams and KAD the Clubman has also been used for development work with Maniflow and Minispares – the products undergoing refinement following testing feedback before being released onto the market. Development and testing work has also recently been carried out for Avon tyres as they develop new tyre technologies and compounds – the feedback provided by an experienced driver using a high specification car giving a true picture of the tyres performance under race conditions.

On track the Clubman is a highly competitive proposition and has broken many Miglia lap records, it also holds the current BARC class record for a lap of the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. The Clubman was also crowned “Fastest Mini In The World” in 2009 beating a selection of both classic and BMW machinery.
