The Metro is a classic Special Saloon utilising a spaceframe chassis and high tech components throughout including F1 specification suspension and brakes. The car has an illustrious past and has been competing for over 20 years winning many championships during this period and has also developed something of a cult following owing to its distinctive shape and head turning performance.

The Metro has recently undergone a major overhaul and has returned to action with a 2 litre Ford Duratec engine replacing the previous Cosworth BDH unit. Development of the Duratec has been undertaken with input from Cosworth and unique development from Piper Cams. The engine transmits the power to the track via a bespoke Quaife gearbox engineered to BRR requirements. Bribar Engineering have manufactured of a number of unique compnents to BRR specifications for inclusion in the project. The Metro will make selected appearances throughout the season as the team fine tunes the engine and chassis, during this process feedback will be provided to all parties involved in the project.

Bill Richards Racing would also like to extend their thanks to Peter Wilkinson for his assistance during the overhaul.
